It doesn't take long to discover that Bude is possible more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall. Most major village, towns and attractions are within an hour's drive; and because Bude sits on the county border, visitors are free to explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall at their leisure, Look past the eight main beaches and many smaller hidden coves and you soon see there really is something for everyone.
As it is a pleasant walk to the town centre of Bude, the huge sandy beach is a favourite with children and adults alike, there is an outdoor sea pool, pretty canal with hire boats, golf course, crazy golf, tennis courts and splash pool and you can enjoy all this without the need of a car! Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path.
The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes throughout the summer; it hosts an annual lifeboat day on the bank holiday weekend of August and has its own carnival and Christmas day swim organised by the local surf club if your brave enough to enter into the Atlantic Ocean in December? - No Wet suits allowed!
Bude also boasts some fantastic restaurants and bistros serving fine local cuisine. Booking is usually advised during peak times.
